In her own words

Bella Tran

My family and I immigrated to America 9 years ago, in search of a better life and an American dream. Growing up as a first-generation college student, my parents always encourage and support me to keep pursuing my dreams through higher education. Living in a completely foreign country, far from their motherland and with limited English skills, has not stopped them at all, instead, it has made them stronger and more hardworking. This motivates me a lot to achieve my personal growth and long-term goals.

I believe that education is not only a pathway to career advancement, but also a tool to expand how I see the world and how I can contribute to it as an individual. By continuing my studies, I am building the knowledge and technical skills necessary to thrive in the always changing field of technology while also developing the experience and perspective needed to take on greater responsibilities in my community. Beyond professional growth, I see my education as a way to give back to the community and people around me. I am excited to use my skills to fill the gaps in communication, access, and opportunity, whether through community engagement, mentoring, or providing technical support for organizations that serve vulnerable populations. Higher education provides me with the foundation to not only pursue personal success, but to also support and uplift others through the knowledge I have earned throughout the years. Lastly, I see education as a long-term investment in myself and in the community around me. It empowers me to set ambitious goals, work with integrity, and make a lasting impact.
